Designing a stained glass window is an ever-changing organic process, playing with rondells, their colors and forms until the solder flows and sometimes after. As with most commissions, we enjoy a little flexibility, however we do like to accommodate. After obtaining exact measurements of where it will be, we work on the design, time frame, visibility, color, and budget. Most of our windows are freestyle playing with color, form, texture, and movement-using the copper foil technique and inspiration mostly from Hank's hand-blown rondells. Historically, rondells are flat plates of glass that are often squared off and refered to as "Bullseyes."
